Outline + script
Constructing a CARTTalk takes a lot of discipline and creativity, so it’s important you have great guidance.
First and foremost, you will want to give every speaker for your event a copy of our TEDx Speaker Guide. It provides all of the guidance they’ll need to draft and deliver a compelling talk. However, it’s still important to check in, offer support, and make sure they’re not falling behind.
Here are the things you need to keep track of when your speakers are putting together an outline and script:
What is the best structure for my CARTTalk?
There are many theories on the best structure for a great presentation. There’s no single trick to it, but here is at least one structure that we’ve found to work particularly well:
Opportunity for Host - Why Now? Illuminate the problem
Tell a story: Start by making the audience care (use a relatable example, story about how you got started, etc)
Solution & vision: Explain clearly & with conviction. Describe your evidence and how and why your idea could be implemented
Business model, information and appropriate integration details
Demo if applicable
Restate opportunity & next steps: Address how your idea could affect your audience/host if they were to implement
